Self Assessment

Although heralded as a great advance in personal taxation when it was launched in 1997, self assessment has proved very difficult to administer in practice and has been costly to taxpayers. During the last tax year, 860,000 taxpayers failed to submit their tax returns by the deadline. In 1999/2000, 808,000 £100 penalty notices were issued. It is clearly beneficial to get your return in on time.

As the tax legislation continues to evolve, so the return changes every year, making it difficult to understand and complete. Indeed, the majority of MPs now employ a professional adviser to complete their own returns!

We can save you time and worry by preparing the computations and completing your self assessment return for you. We can act as your agent, dealing directly with the Inland Revenue on your behalf and can act for you in the event of any self assessment enquiry.
